Why Ritual Cafe?
Josh: We usually go out for coffee every weekend and we try to change it up every weekend. We hadn’t been to Ritual in awhile so we went. I also tried their food for the first time!
Grace: We were looking for a light lunch, and Josh had never experienced the delicious food at Ritual Cafe. Obviously, this had to change.
Josh: With an all vegetarian menu, I opted for something…vegetarian. I got the “Tomato Y Basil”. It included “fresh basil, tomatoes, parmesan and provolone cheeses grilled on garlic focaccia”.
This sandwich was extremely good. The bread was garlicky, slightly toasted and full of flavor. It made the sandwich what it was. The cheeses blended well and and basil and tomato did their job and tasted like tomato and basil. The fact that it was vegetarian didn’t make it any less enticing. It was a good quality sandwich that I would eat again.
Though it was good quality, I have to knock it for its quantity. As we all know…quantity > quality. All you get is a medium-sized sandwich and a tiny bit of coleslaw. No sides. Shame.
Since it was a coffee date, I got coffee! I got my usual choice of iced mocha. It was good! It’s hard to screw up an iced mocha and they didn’t screw up! It was yummy and served in a glass. No waste! Yay!
Grace: #1 thing you need to know about Ritual Cafe is that everything they serve is vegetarian, and most of it can be adapted to be vegan. I think that’s real cool.
I ordered a Grilled Veggie Mozzarella panini – red and green peppers, red onions, tomatoes, mozzarella, and balsamic vinegar on garlic focaccia bread.
So fresh and so delicious! They loaded it up with veggies and it was served toasty warm and delicious. You really can’t go wrong with vegetables and melted cheese, and the thick, garlicky focaccia tied it all together.
Every sandwich also comes with a side of vegan coleslaw, which was fresh and flavorful. I only wish there was more!
I also ordered an Iced Soy Mocha. Look at this bad boy. It was delicious! Not too strong, not too sweet. I’ll admit it was a little weird to pair with a garlicky, Italian sandwich, but what can you do?
Atmosphere, Service, Price
Grace: I L O V E Ritual Cafe because they give 0 fucks about what makes you uncomfortable. There are posters everywhere about Standing Rock, the Muslim Ban, Palestine, recycling (that shouldn’t make anyone uncomfortable, just saying), as well as local theater and events. They encourage you to stay and enjoy your food there for the fellowship but also so that you don’t unnecessarily create waste with takeout containers.
The staff is so kind and the prices are super reasonable – on par with Panera but much more delicious. I would recommend that everyone go at least once. Expand your worldview over a cup of coffee!
Josh: Tsk tsk tsk. With Obama out of office, I thought this leftist, liberal BS would be over. What does this place think it is? Love? Acceptance? Tolerance? Not in my America. MAGA BABY.
Yeah the food is good…but does that make this a good business? Whatever.
And vegetarian food? Lol yeah right. This is AMERICA AND WE EAT RED MEAT DAMMIT. What kind of place is this? Do yourself a favor and just go to Panera. At least they have family values.
*i’m obviously joking*
